The Day Before the Big Day....

As I was counting down the last minutes of being 38 years young, I spent a bright and sunny day at my moms just playing with the kids (Matt and I included). We celebrated my 39th birthday the following day at Disneyland and had a blast. The Magic Kingdom is still truly charming, too bad we couldn't magically turn back the clock and celebrate my 29th birthday instead.

Almost 39.....

Practicing my Kobe Bryant moves... let's go Lakers!

Okay, here's the play, I'm gonna in-bound, you run to the top of the key, pass back to me and I'll shoot the three pointer while you block out Shaq

Another One Bites the Dust

Kyle decided that he needed to catch up with Luke on how many times he had visited the ER..... last week as we were dropping Luke off at school, Kyle tripped and hit a door square on the forehead and split it open. And yes, of course, it was messy, scary, and emotionally jarring. But once at the ER Kyle did awesome and was very very brave. He ended up getting the Dermabond glue in the forehead instead of stitches so hopefully the scar will be minimal. Now Kyle says... "See Luke, I wasn't even 2 when I made my first trip to the ER, you were 3 1/2.." To which Luke replies.... "yeah but I've been there 3 times so I'm still winning....."

See guys, this is where I hit

My war wound

Marvelous Mother's Day...

How lucky I am to be a Mother..... I thought on Mother's Day. I looked at my two beautiful boys and remembered how amazing it was to give birth to them. It seemed like so long ago.

I had a fabulous day with breakfast in bed, a lovely walk through the neighborhood Home Tour, a nap in the hammock and a relaxing BBQ with my boys in the back yard.

Gettin Some T-Ball Action

Luke's T-Ball season came to an exciting end in the middle of May. He had a great time playing with the Cubs and having his dad be an assistant coach was extra special. His favorite things were sliding, hitting the ball far, playing Shortstop, 1st Base and Catcher and practicing with the hitting stick. Next up on the activity schedule, swim lessons in June!

Preschool Bike Parade

Each year Luke's school puts on a school picnic in May and the preschool classes get to kick it off by conducting a Bicycle Parade. We get to decorate his bike and he does laps around the school entrance. This year we did baseball theme since we were coming straight to the picnic from a T-ball game. Luke zoomed his way around the school only getting in one little fender bender. He still has the training wheels on but we intend to do a lot of practicing this summer so he'll have those off in no time.

I'm so ready!!

More Easter Fun....

Easter day was spent at home, enjoying the sunshine and each other. After a half dozen egg hunts in the front yard, Luke decided to get creative and make his own Easter egg design on the fence, I love this shot. Kyle, however, was more interested in the Easter grass than what was actually in his basket.

Time keeps on slipping, slipping... into the future......

Oh the days go by so fast... What happened to the time when we were young and it took forever for two days to pass, let along a week. So many things going on the past few months.......
  • Lots of T-ball action. We just ended the season this week with a much deserved invitation to the All Star Game where Luke went 4 for 4, made a stellar play at Pitcher to get a guy out and played awesome at Catcher. Big team party this weekend and team Padre game with Dad.
  • Got through our annual Fantasy Baseball Draft in Vegas in March. Had a great time with the family. A-Rod better pull through for me.
  • Had a beautiful Easter spending time up in L.A. with Dad and Carol, decorating eggs with the boys, watching baseball and spending time with the Cooper cousins and Judy at her home.
  • Another mockingbird family was back making a nest in the front yard trellace and we have enjoyed watching the baby bird grow up and fly the nest.
  • Luke participated in his school Spring Jubilee in April, dancing to some 50's music with his partner Ashlyn, slicked back hair, jeans and rolled up T-shirt. He was responsible for saying the Pledge of Allegiance at the opening of the show and did awesome. What a great performance!
